Apple's highly anticipated fall event is set for Monday, September 9, at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET, 6 p.m. BST, 3 a.m. AEST, 10:30 p.m. IST). The event will be live streamed on Apple's website, YouTube, and through the Apple TV app. With only days left, fans are eagerly waiting for the new iPhones, Watch series and more. The tech giant is expected to unveil the new iPhone 16 lineup and potentially provide more details on the public launch of iOS 18 and Apple Intelligence.

Apple sent out invites and by the looks of it, it suggests that software, particularly AI, will play a significant role in the keynote. The invitation features a multicolored Apple logo and the tagline "Glowtime," which may reference the new Siri upgrade in iOS 18.

The new iPhones

Rumors surrounding the iPhone 16 suggest several notable updates, including larger image sensors and a new physical camera button. This button, rumored to sit next to the Action button introduced with the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, could support swipe gestures to zoom in and out. This would be remarkably convenient considering how the iPhones' cameras are marketed extensively.

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the base iPhone 16 Pro may feature a 5x optical zoom lens, a capability previously exclusive to the Pro Max. Additionally, analyst Jeff Pu suggests that the ultrawide cameras on both the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max could be upgraded from 12 megapixels to 48 megapixels.

As for the availability, Apple is likely to launch the new iPhones the week after the event. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple has scheduled mandatory meetings for retail employees on September 12 or 13, hinting at a product release soon after. The preorders for the iPhone 16 could begin on September 13, with an official release on September 20.

Apple Watch X

The new iPhones may get all the attention but Apple may also introduce the 10th generation of its smartwatch, potentially named the Apple Watch X. The smartwatches by Apple dominate the category and are consumer favourite, making it an equally important product to watch out for.

Apple Watch X could feature a thinner design and larger screen sizes, increasing the current 41mm option to 45mm and the 45mm version to 49mm. It may also offer new health monitoring features, including blood pressure measurement and sleep apnea detection, something we've seen in the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra. The watch could incorporate a new mechanism for attaching bands magnetically to the watch dial.

AirPods, too

Reports also indicate that Apple could also reveal two new models of AirPods at the event. These new models might feature a redesigned look with shorter stems and support for USB-C charging. A higher-end version may include Active Noise Cancellation, traditionally a feature of the more expensive AirPods Pro.
