  • The app and website support 12 regional languages, aiming to create a more inclusive financial ecosystem.
  • This move aligns with the trend of digital platforms embracing multilingual support to cater to a diverse user base.
  • The NSE's initiative promotes financial literacy and participation among a broader section of the population.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) of India has taken a significant step towards inclusivity and accessibility by launching its official mobile application, NSEIndia, and expanding its corporate website to support 12 regional languages.

The launch was inaugurated by NSE MD and CEO Ashish Kumar Chauhan on the auspicious occasion of Diwali and Samvat 2081. This initiative not only marks the completion of 30 years of NSE's operations but also underlines the exchange's dedication to creating a more inclusive financial ecosystem for investors across the nation.

The mobile application and the expansion of the website into regional languages are transformative steps towards a more inclusive and accessible financial ecosystem. The application, now available on the Apple App Store and the Android App Store, offers key features such as market at glance, Indices, Market snapshot, Market trend, Turnover and Capital Market (Equity), among others.

These initiatives are designed to empower investors by offering intuitive tools, near real-time insights, and the convenience of accessing market information in their native language.

Embracing Multilingual Support

The NSE's expansion into regional languages is a significant milestone in the Indian financial sector. The move is expected to benefit millions of investors who prefer to access financial information in their native languages. The NSE's initiative is in line with the recent decision by the Union Cabinet to grant 'classical language' status to five more Indian languages, including Marathi, Bengali, and Assamese. This decision underscores the government's commitment to promoting and preserving the rich heritage of Indian languages.

The NSE's initiative is also a reflection of the broader trend of digital platforms embracing multilingual support to cater to a diverse user base. For instance, Myntra, a leading fashion e-commerce platform, recently introduced a Vernacular Search feature that allows users to browse and shop for products in 10 native languages. Similarly, AskQX, a new artificial intelligence lab, supports interactions in over 100 languages, including 12 Indian languages.

Celebrating Significant Milestones

The NSE's multilingual expansion comes at a time when the exchange is celebrating another significant milestone. In October, the total number of client codes at the exchange surpassed 20 crore, marking impressive growth in just eight months. This achievement, coupled with the launch of the multilingual mobile app and website, underscores the NSE's commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible financial ecosystem.
