With these new orders, BEL's total order inflow for the fiscal year 2024-25 has reached Rs 8,828 crore, a significant step toward its ambitious annual target of Rs 25,000 crore. BEL's Chairman and Managing Director, Manoj Jain, expressed confidence in the company's ability to meet its financial year objectives.
The contracts cover a variety of areas, including the maintenance of the Akash Missile System, provision of telescopic sights for firearms, communication equipment, electronic jammers, and electronic voting machines, along with related spares and services.
The company has also benefited from India's push toward indigenous defence production under the "Atmanirbhar Bharat" initiative, which emphasizes reducing reliance on imports and bolstering domestic capabilities.
The company has also diversified into non-defence sectors, such as medical electronics and smart city solutions, broadening its revenue streams. In FY2024-25, BEL aims to increase the share of its non-defence revenue to around 25%-30%, compared to 20% in earlier years.
BEL's growth trajectory is supported by robust execution capabilities, a lean balance sheet, and a technological edge in its niche sectors. BEL's strategy to expand its presence in areas like software services, space electronics, and renewable energy is ensuring long-term sustainability.
