Bahrain-based Investcorp has bolstered its presence in the United States by investing $300 million to acquire three real estate projects.

With the latest acquisition, Investcorp's current holdings in the North American country have reached $5.3 billion, according to a press statement.

Through the latest acquisition, Investcopr added approximately 1.5 million square feet to its U.S. industrial real estate portfolio, which spans roughly 42 million square feet and approximately 640 buildings.

Details of Acquisitions

According to the press statement, the first acquisition which falls under the Dallas and Atlanta portfolio includes 16 buildings totaling 597,161 square feet in Dallas and Atlanta.

The second one consists of a 17-building portfolio encompassing 539,909 square feet across Denver, Las Vegas, San Diego and the San Francisco Bay Area. These markets consist of highly desirable and institutional western markets that Investcorp has continued to target.

Under the Tampa Industrial Portfolio, Investcorp acquired eight buildings comprising 279,887 square feet in a market that has seen robust job and population growth.

"We remain confident in the industrial asset class, which now represents nearly 60 percent of our real estate assets under management in the U.S. While the overall sector has shown signs of normalizing from pandemic-era highs, a lot of this stabilization is concentrated among newly built speculative properties," said Herb Myers, Co-Head of Real Estate North America at Investcorp.

He added: "We continue to see strong performance and compelling investment opportunities for existing infill assets in high-growth markets, and believe the sector will continue to benefit from positive tailwinds and sustained demand over the long term."
