Indian fast-moving consumer goods giant Tata Consumer Products Limited has completed the merger of its three subsidiaries after obtaining approval from the National Company Law Tribunal, according to a bourse filing. 

The statement noted that TCPL merged its wholly-owned subsidiaries Tata Consumer Soulfull Pvt Ltd, NourishCo Beverages Ltd, and Tata SmartFoodz Ltd with the company, upon receiving all necessary regulatory clearances. 

"We wish to inform you that the conditions outlined under Clause 17 of the Scheme, including the filing of certified copies of the order with the Registrar of Companies, of the respective companies, in Form INC-28, have been duly completed," said the company in the filing. 

Merger to Streamline Businesses

The company noted that the decision to merge these three subsidiaries could help the firm simplify and streamline its business. 

Moreover, the company added that the consolidation of legal entity structure will unlock efficiencies and synergies. 

The statement further noted that the merger will not affect the existing operations of their respective business units. 

"There is no change in the operating structure for these business units and they will continue to stay focused on the following portfolios - millet based products, ready-to-drink products and ready-to-cook/ ready-to-eat products. These product portfolios are part of the growth businesses for Tata Consumer Products," added the statement.

Tata Consumer Products is one of the biggest names in India's FMCG landscape, with the company holding a strong portfolio comprising products including tea, coffee, salt and pulses. 

The company also has other products including breakfast cereals, snacks and mini meals. 

Some of the noted brands owned by Tata Consumer Products are Tata Tea, Tetley, Organic India, Eight O'Clock Coffee, Tata Coffee Grand, as well as, Himalayan Natural Mineral Water, Tata Copper+ and Tata Gluco+. 

The company currently has an annual turnover of 15,026 crores.
